Troy: Director's Cut: Now with James Horner!

Troy, directed by Wolfgang Petersen, is an interesting little movie. Made to ride on the early 2000s wave of historical epics that Gladiator had sparked, it got mixed reviews on initial release but has since become a cult classic.

The Director's Cut, released on HD-DVD and Blu-ray in 2007, is better in almost every way - more character development, more action, more of the sacking of Troy... well, I say almost.

The soundtrack is borked. Instead of James Horner's awesome score, you've got pieces lifted from other movies. As a result, the Director's Cut lacks the emotional impact of the original.

I ought to do something about it, and I think I've got the idea - make a replacement soundtrack for the Director's Cut.
